July marks Black Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to honor the emotional journeys, lived experiences, and mental health needs of Black communities. At Our Sisters’ Circle, we center the wellness of Black women—because your healing, your peace, and your wholeness matter deeply.
Too often, we are taught to carry everything—family, community, work, and the weight of history—without ever being asked how we are doing. This month, we’re here to remind you that you are not a machine, and you don’t have to push through pain or suppress your stress to prove your strength.
Taking time to care for yourself is not a luxury—it’s your right. Whether it’s five minutes of deep breathing, saying “no” without guilt, attending therapy, journaling your thoughts, or simply resting, your wellness practices are valid and necessary.
Caring for yourself during this month (and always) is a radical act of resistance. It says: I am worthy of rest. I am worthy of healing. I am allowed to put myself first.
We encourage you make a commitment to at least one intentional act of self-care each week. You are not alone, and your mental health deserves just as much attention as your physical well-being.
Let’s hold space for ourselves and each other as we grow, heal, and continue flourishing.
With you in sisterhood and strength,
Our Sisters’ Circle
